From being last year’s tail-ender, Unit II tankers dominated this year’s swimming event after garnering seven of twelve gold medals in the major individual, medley and relay swimming events at Sto. Domingo River, Thursday.
Blue tankers earned a total of seven gold, six silver, and three bronze medals, beating the number of medals won by the other two units.
In the roster of the individual swimming categories, Unit II’s male tanker, Orly Calderon won two golds in Freestyle and Butterfly events, while Unit I topped the Backstroke and Individual Medley.
Furthermore, Unit II’s Myrna Villamartin, with an outstretched apt skill in strokes, flawlessly cued the lead in the Breaststroke, Freestyle, Backstroke and Individual Medley, which netted four golds for the Blue team in the women’s category.
Professor Rico Romero, the tournament manager, said that Villamartin is already qualified to represent CSC in the Regional SCUAA Meet for her outstanding performance during the game.
In the group category, Unit I snared the first place in the Medley Relay, followed by the Blue team. While in the Freestyle Relay, Unit II bagged the first place, followed by the Reds.
