Unit I footballers unleashed the wrath of a champion in their opening game against Unit III, which they crippled in a 7-1 score at the Division Sports Complex.
Red strikers, led by captain ball Mark Anthony Socao, took control of every possession to cut an early lead of 3-0 early in the first half.
Just after the consecutive goals of the Red strikers, the Yellow jerseys attempted to get back on track. Before the end of the first half, Macjay V. Barro struck a goal, 3-1.
As Unit III held out their hopes on the first goal, they were greeted by two goals at the start of the second half, coming from Red striker JR Manlangit.
The Yellow jerseys tried but failed to man the offensive team and instead received an additional two consecutive goals from Niño Timuat and Barro.
“Masaya kami ta kami ang nanggana buda dae man ning injured. Biga expect mi man na magaling ang makakalaban mi na Unit II sa aga ta sinda ang nakalaban mi sa Championship last time,” said Ivan Cydrick G. Baino of the Red strikers.
“Sa hiling ko, dae kami nanggana ta pano dae pa man kami batid masyado ning soccer buda mga players na talaga pano ang nasa Unit I, pero ayos lang ito,” said the players of the Yellow strikers.
